Regarding Appointments

No. You must be referred by a physician to our office. Your family doctor, surgeon, or other specialist will refer you to our office once you have been diagnosed with a blood disorder or cancer.

No. Due to patient volume, we are not able to call patients with appointment reminders. Please feel free to call our office to confirm your appointment dates and times.

Patient appointments begin at 7:30 AM. Our front doors will remain locked until a few minutes before 7:30 AM to allow our staff time to prepare for your arrival. Until the front doors are unlocked, please feel free to wait in the vestibule.

Most appointments can be rescheduled. Please call our office to discuss your individual situation.

Every patient is given all the time necessary during each visit. In case of a problem or emergency, you may have to wait while the situation is resolved.

On any given day, patients are scheduled for laboratory visits, treatment, nurse practitioner visits, and doctor visits. Patients are taken back in their scheduled order for each of these types of visits. If a patient who arrived at the office after you is taken back before you, that patient was scheduled for a different type of visit.

Patients receiving certain types of chemotherapy are very sensitive to smells. For patient comfort, we ask that you do not wear perfume, cologne, or scented lotion to the office.

If your treatment lasts several hours, you may bring food or drink with you. We ask that you do not bring strong smelling foods – such as Chinese food, tuna fish, Italian subs, etc. – into the treatment room, as patients receiving certain types of chemotherapy are very sensitive to smells.
